ChirstChurch the 2nd biggest city in New Zealand was lef without power or water after the diaster.
The estimate of the money needed to rebuild the city was $10 billion dollar.

The Long tailed bat are common in New Zealand and in 1800 there were hundreds and thosands of bats in New Zealand.
By 1900 to 1930 they were becoming scarce in many districts. In the south island the long tail bat are realy rare now.
The Short tail bat is ancient and uquie and also endangerd so we must not take risk losing them.Sadly there are only found in few locations.
